BOOM Library ReBuilt 'GUN HANDLING'

Boom GunHandling ReBuilt

BOOM Library, a company with expertise in professional sound effects, has today announced the release of GUN HANDLING, a fully rebuilt and massively expanded sound effects library dedicated to firearm mechanics and Foley.

Recognizing the evolving needs of professional sound designers, BOOM Library fully re-recorded its classic handling library. Moving away from live shooting ranges, the team utilized heavily dampened indoor acoustic spaces to capture the intricate, tactile sounds of weapons with zero environmental reflections.

Axel Rohrbach, co-founder of BOOM Library, commented, "We realized our users needed absolute control over their spatial processing. By recording in a completely dry environment, we are delivering sounds completely free of spatial character, giving composers and sound designers the freedom to place them in any world they choose."

The new GUN HANDLING library triples the size of its predecessor, offering over 1,700 individual sounds and more than 2 GB of high-definition audio. The collection covers a wide array of firearms, including assault rifles, submachine guns, pistols, revolvers, and bolt-action rifles. It meticulously details the essential actions that precede gunfire: magazine inserts, safety clicks, bolt pulls, dry fires, and grip adjustments.

  • Recorded in an acoustically deadened studio environment
