Ferrum BROEN

Ferrum today announces the launch of the BROEN, a premium network streaming transport created to deliver uncompromising digital audio performance while integrating seamlessly with the company's award-winning WANDLA DACs and HYPSOS power management system. Developed entirely around Ferrum's philosophy of engineering to improve sound, BROEN has been designed as much more than a conventional network streamer. Operating exclusively in the digital domain, it has been built from the ground up to provide a clean and precise digital signal path while offering flexible connectivity, intuitive operation and extensive streaming support.
At the heart of BROEN is Ferrum's newly developed SERCE DDC module (Digital to Digital Converter), engineered to optimise every stage of digital signal handling. By focusing exclusively on digital processing, SERCE delivers outstanding precision while maintaining complete separation between input and output domains. Ferrum has also implemented galvanically isolated audio outputs and ultra-low jitter audio clocks to preserve signal integrity throughout the entire playback chain.
BROEN supports both wired and wireless networking, with conventional Wi-Fi connectivity joined by a modular SFP port that accepts either a standard Ethernet module or an optical module. This allows users to connect directly to compatible SFP network switches for reduced electrical noise and even cleaner digital transmission. An SFP module for connecting an Ethernet cable (RJ45)is supplied with the BROEN as part of the package

The new transport has also been designed around Ferrum Streaming Control Technology (FSCT), allowing seamless communication with the WANDLA range of flagship DACs. When connected via USB, users can control BROEN directly from WANDLA's touchscreen or supplied remote control, with artist information, album details and playback status displayed on the DAC itself. Together, BROEN and WANDLA create a fully integrated streaming DAC and preamplifier solution, optimised specifically to work together as a single ecosystem. Performance can be taken even further when paired with Ferrum's HYPSOS hybrid power management system. Connected via the proprietary Ferrum Power Link (FPL) with 4TSD voltage sensing, the two components communicate to maximise electrical performance and unlock the highest possible level of musical performance.
BROEN is powered by the Volumio streaming platform, giving users immediate access to an extensive range of music services and playback options straight out of the box. Support includes Spotify and Spotify Connect, TIDAL and TIDAL Connect, Qobuz and Qobuz Connect, AirPlay, UPnP/DLNA, internet radio, CD playback, multi-room playback, AI-powered SuperSearch, Infinity Playback and enhanced album and artist metadata.
BROEN also includes over-the-air firmware updates and a platform that allows new functionality to be added over time. An internal SSD slot provides additional storage flexibility, while the modular SFP socket offers users the option of upgrading network connectivity as their systems evolve. BROEN's front panel has been developed with simplicity and ease of use in mind, providing intuitive day-to-day operation while allowing listeners to spend less time navigating menus and more time enjoying music.
BROEN is out now, priced at £1995, €1995, $2275.
