Thoughtfully designed, machined, assembled, and tested by AUDIX in the USA, the D6X utilizes AUDIX’s exclusive VLM (Very Low Mass) diaphragm for exceptional transient response and natural, distortion-free sound capture under extremely high sound pressure levels (=144dB SPL).
The D6X took the recording and live sound world by storm by introducing its game-changing, recessed, tool-free switch that enables engineers to sculpt the low-end character of the kick drum across three distinct frequency response profiles on the fly. Deep, which retains 100% of the classic, pre-shaped D6 sonic performance, delivering a modern, deep sound that immediately cuts through the mix. Balanced, which delivers a more traditional kick drum voice by adding presence in the mids and upper mid-range while preserving the original D6 sonic impact. And Natural, which unlocks a more linear response thanks to its adjusted high-end roll-off and fuller mid-range, and is optimized for capturing a organic, natural acoustic character or experimenting on percussion, bass cabinets, and other low-frequency sources.
