Audio Precision upgrades Digital Audio Testing

AudioPrecision PSIO

Audio Precision just launched the Programmable Serial I/O (PSIO) module, the newest expansion for APx Series analyzers. This new digital module maintains full compatibility with established APx500 B-series analyzers, ensuring an easy transition when moving from our previous DSIO module to this upgraded solution. PSIO connects directly to device serial digital audio ports including DSP’s, SoC’s, CODEC’s, DAC’s, and ADC’s and supports widely used formats such as I²S, left-justified, right-justified, and other custom data and clock configurations.

Why upgrade to the PSIO module?

  • Direct connection to device serial audio pins eliminates intermediate components, providing accurate validation of clocks, data timing, and word formatting.
  • Logic voltage ranges from 0.5 to 3.3 V in 100 mV steps enabling testing of low-power IC designs.
  • Improved control over serial-audio signaling at the electrical interface enables faster debug cycles and higher-confidence measurements.
  • Wider logic level range allows testing of a wider range of devices, from low-power devices to multi-channel digital-audio subsystems.
  • More accuracy in acoustically sensitive environments with a high-impedance, remote interface pod.
