Novation today announces the release of Launchkey 88, the largest keyboard controller in the MK4 range. This latest addition inherits the deep DAW integration, built-in creative tools, and intuitive workflow features of Launchkey 49 and 61 and pairs them with a custom-designed, 88-key semi-weighted keybed for expressive playing.
Launchkey 88 boasts seven-plus octaves of full-size, piano-style keys and a semi-weighted mechanism that has been refined to provide the most expressive response possible, even during the most delicate passages. Its 16 velocity-sensitive pads with polyphonic aftertouch and Novation’s patented Force Sensitive Resistor technology are equally playable and allow for additional options when playing drums or melodic instruments.
Launchkey 88 includes existing MK4 keyboards’ full suite of built-in creative tools and workflow-enhancing features, helping composers and producers stay in the flow while working in Ableton Live, Logic, Cubase, FL Studio, Reason, Bitwig, or Ardour, with Mackie HUI support for Pro Tools and other supported DAWs. As with the range’s other premium controllers, Launchkey 88 includes a bank of nine precision faders and eight endless encoders that map automatically to key parameters of supported DAWs - from transport, to mixing, to navigating projects - and supported NKS plugins.
Included in Launchkey 88’s selection of instrument and effect plugins is Novation Play, an exclusive software instrument based on sampled acoustic pianos, vintage synthesisers, and cutting-edge sound design - all mapped directly to Launchkey’s controls for a hardware instrument–like playing experience. Launchkey 88 rounds out the MK4 range, which, following the recent launch of Launchkey 61 White, now encompasses a total of 10 controllers across six different sizes and two unique colour options.
