BOOM Library UBERBASS

BOOM Library announces UBERBASS, a bass enhancer plug-in for VST3, AU and AAX. Where a simple bass boost applies one control to the whole low end, UBERBASS generates a focused low-frequency effect around a frequency the user sets, places it with precision, drives it into character on demand, and holds it under control with a built-in gate and low cut, all within a single signal path.
UBERBASS is built around BOOST as its hero control, setting how much of the generated effect is added to the source. FREQUENCY and Q-FACTOR place that effect exactly where a source needs it, from a tightly focused band on a kick drum to a broad region across a full mix bus, while INTENSITY sets how strongly it applies. DRIVE adds harmonic saturation, moving the effect from clean sub reinforcement to an aggressive, driven low end. GATE THR, with its own ATTACK, RELEASE and RATIO settings, keeps the effect confined to the passages where it belongs, and LOW CUT removes unwanted rumble from the plug-in’s entire output.
UBERBASS does not generate a subharmonic tone beneath the source signal the way an octave-down or subharmonic synthesis tool does. Its effect is built from added harmonics with a resonant focus around the chosen frequency, which is then shaped by drive and gating before it blends back into the original sound; a low cut ahead of the dry/wet stage then removes rumble from the combined signal. Lookahead processing is available to avoid unwanted clipping and crackling from too much added low-frequency energy, at a cost of 10 ms of latency; with lookahead disabled, the plug-in runs with no added latency.
"With UBERBASS, we didn't want to just bolt rumble onto a track,” said Axel Rohrbach, founder and creative director at BOOM Library. “We wanted low end that melds with the source so naturally it feels like the power and weight were there all along. The result is a clean, inspiring tool that earns its place in any workflow – from sound design and music to sound for picture."
