BOSCH PRAESENSA End-of-Branch

Bosch PRAESENSA End of Brand

PRAESENSA IP-based public address and voice alarm system by Bosch is expanding with the launch of the new PRA-EOB End-of-Branch device. Designed for retrofit and replacement projects, and fully compliant with EN 54-16, the device enables reliable supervision of multi-branch loudspeaker lines, a frequent need in tree and star topologies found in complex or expanding installations. The End-of-Branch delivers greater installation flexibility, reduced cabling, and faster setup, while ensuring full system integrity. Each branch can be individually supervised, making it easier to monitor and detect faults, and optimize cabling in projects where straightforward routing isn’t possible.

At the core of this innovation is Bosch’s addressable smart pilot tone handshake technology. Unlike impedance-based solutions, it uses existing speaker cabling to individually address and monitor each branch, eliminating threshold settings and calibration steps. Operating above 25 kHz, the pilot tone remains completely inaudible, making the solution ideal for sensitive spaces such as hospitals, hotels, and offices. With around 15 percent of typical PA/VA installations requiring multi-branch configurations, the PRA-EOB directly addresses this market need. Beyond branch supervision, it can also be used to monitor individual loudspeakers for added flexibility.

The End-of-Branch device will be available in Q4 2025 and requires the latest PRAESENSA firmware to be installed on existing amplifiers to ensure compatibility and full functionality.
