Telos Alliance Telos Zephyr Connect SE
Telos Alliance, a company with epxertise in broadcast audio for more than three decades, announces it will introduce a new codec offering at IBC2025: Telos Zephyr Connect SE. Zephyr Connect SE joins the Telos iPort High Density multi-codec gateway appliance and the software-based Zephyr Connect virtual codec to offer broadcasters a complete portfolio of trusted, top-quality Telos codec solutions. The latest member of the newly introduced Studio Essentials family of products, Zephyr Connect SE is built on a compact, fanless, silent hardware platform ideal for use in the studio or at the transmitter site.
Zephyr Connect SE includes a single bidirectional stereo codec and is expandable to four codecs via additional licenses. It is fully compatible and interoperable with iPort HD and Zephyr Connect and, like those products, can be used as a studio-to-transmitter link, a network distribution system, a multi-channel link to remote studios, or a streaming encoder when paired with a streaming server. Zephyr Connect SE supports Unicast UDP and TCP or UDP Multicast stream types and offers native support for Livewire+.
As with all Telos codecs, Zephyr Connect SE uses genuine Fraunhofer IIS codecs for AAC, AAC-LD, AAC-HE, AAC-HEv2, MP3, and MP2, and optionally, Enhanced aptX encoding. “Broadcasters have trusted Telos codecs to get audio from Point A to Point B for years,” said Robbie Green, Telos Alliance Product Manager. “As part of our easy-to-install Studio Essentials series, Telos Zephyr Connect SE offers the same top-quality audio and feature set as our iPort High Density hardware appliance and virtualized Zephyr Connect products, but scaled down and at a more affordable price, making it the perfect choice for smaller stations.”
Those attending IBC2025 from September 12 - 15, 2025, will have the opportunity to see Zephyr Connect SE in the Telos Alliance booth, Stand 8.D37. Zephyr Connect SE is expected to be available from the website below.
