The Duet is inspired by a 1960s amp that defined jazz, blues, surf rock, classic country, and 70s funk. If a sound could be described as "expensive-smelling cologne", this would be it. It’s pristine, massive, and crystal-clear. Steadfastly resistant to distorting, it adds an extra dimension to every note and has to be pushed hard to achieve overdrive. It sounds like your guitar, only more. Deep, authoritative lows and shimmering highs, with the middle frequencies neatly tucked back. The Fatman is based on a vintage 1950s masterpiece originally designed for bass players. It became the holy grail for guitarists through its ability to put forth tone with immense weight, but not a hint of harshness. It’s like the perfect cup of coffee: it’s warm, complex, gives a kick when pushed, and essential for getting the day started on the right foot. It’s not tight or modern, it’s bouncy and pillowy, with bass that feels like it’s vibrating in your chest. The 4x10 speaker setup offers a thick, woody midrange and sweet, sweet highs, imbuing your guitar sound with vocal-like qualities. This old dog doesn’t need new tricks. This amp yearns to be pushed.
