How to resolve AdBlock issue? HK Audio for Berlin's Adieu Bar

Designed as a daytime and aperitif bar, Adieu is a space built around connection - somewhere people can move easily from relaxed afternoons into livelier evenings. Created by a group of friends, the Berlin-based venue is intentionally fluid, sitting somewhere between bar, social space and event setting and has turned to HK Audio’s dedicated loudspeaker series, FINEO.
“Despite the name, ‘Adieu’ isn’t meant as a final goodbye,” explains Julian Mathieu, owner Adieu. “It’s a quiet, welcoming invitation. We wanted to create something that feels as vibrant and adaptable as we are - whether that’s a bar, a brand or an event space.” That versatility placed clear demands on the venue’s sound system. From relaxed daytime service to live jazz performances and DJ sets, Adieu required a solution capable of delivering both subtle, high-quality background audio and the clarity and precision needed for live music. “We needed a system that could handle everything - from everyday operation to professional-level performances,” Mathieu continues. “With HK Audio, we’re able to meet those high standards while staying completely flexible.”
The installation was carried out by DTB Veranstaltungstechnik GmbH, an event technology specialist based near Berlin. “Since we already worked extensively with HK Audio systems in the live sector, the FINEO range was a natural choice for this project,” explains Christian Bruß, Event Project Manager at DTB. “We carried out detailed room calculations in advance, ensuring the entire bar was acoustically covered.”
Part of HK Audio’s latest installation portfolio, FINEO has been developed with real-world use in mind - something that became clear from the outset at Adieu. With a clean, design-led interior and a layout that moves from open, social areas into more intimate seating, the system needed to deliver consistent coverage without disrupting the sleek aesthetic. For DTB, the process was refreshingly straightforward. “The system was very easy to install, thanks to the range of dedicated mounting accessories,” explains Bruß. “Everything is well thought out – from the brackets to the coordination with the amplifiers. It’s a very user-friendly solution and, for us, it was a bit of a no-brainer.”
At Adieu, the result speaks for itself. Designed to deliver consistent, evenly distributed coverage, FINEO allows sound to move naturally through the room, supporting the venue’s relaxed, social atmosphere without overwhelming it. “It’s been fantastic,” says Julian Mathieu, owner of Adieu. “For daily business, it creates a wonderful atmosphere with perfect sound distribution. During our recent jazz concert, it delivered a focused, crystal-clear sound.” This balance between presence and subtlety is key in a space like Adieu, where the atmosphere shifts throughout the day. Whether it’s low-level background music or a live performance, the system adapts without drawing attention to itself – instead becoming part of the overall experience.
“High-quality music always has an impact,” Mathieu adds. “There’s a huge difference between sound just coming from a corner and a room being fully immersed in a rich, balanced soundscape. It completely changes how the space feels.” “To put simply, it ticked every box for the client,” concludes Bruß.
