The new Model 16 from Tascam takes live multi-track recording to an affordable new level, having the ease and feel of an analogue mixer but with the recording quality of a modern digital recorder. It integrates a 14-channel analogue mixing desk, 16-track internal digital recorder, multi-track USB audio interface, 16 editable effects and versatile routing and monitoring capabilities into an all-in-one unit and fits comfortably in a rehearsal studio, home studio or any production environment where recording quality is paramount and space is limited.

14 inputs for microphones, line signals and instruments are easily accessible from the top panel. Channels 1–8 feature premium XLR mic inputs utilizing Tascam’s Ultra-HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture) preamplifiers with 48-volt phantom power. There is also a Bluetooth 5.0 enabled stereo input for audio streaming utilising high-quality audio codecs.

Three Aux busses (Monitor 1, Monitor 2 (pre/post) and Effects) and PFL (Pre Fader Listen) round out the Model 16’s pro-level routing options. And a Sub group provides another pair of stereo line outputs which can be used to drive an additional amplifier, for example.

The internal 16-track MTR records WAV files directly to SD cards, and the built-in USB audio interface can send/receive audio data to and from a wide range of popular audio recording (DAW) softwares. To fit the recording or mixing environment, each mixer input channel (or stereo paired channels) can independently select the input source as live, internal MTR, or USB, opening up a whole new world of possibilities for live performances or recording sessions.

The Model 16 has a high-quality internal power supply and can also be installed using an optional rack mount kit.
