After the new KSL System from d&b audiotechnik had made a name for itself with its acoustical performance, its design is now attracting attention. The latest addition to the SL-Series has been awarded one of the most coveted international seals of quality for good design, the "Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019".

In an on-site evaluation marathon with around 5,500 entries, forty international experts from the Red Dot Jury based in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, determined the best products created every year. Evaluation criteria included degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability, self-explanatory quality and ecological compatibility. The Red Dot Award: Product Design, which origins date back to 1955, appraises the design quality in forty eight categories every year.

In 2014, d&b audiotechnik received a Red Dot Award for the first time for the D80 amplifier. The well-bred amplifier is once again a trusted accomplice for realizing the full potential of the KSL System, which has now also been awarded with a Red Dot.

The Red Dot is already the second design award for the SL-Series, which includes KSL as well as its ground-breaking sister GSL. In 2018, GSL was awarded the "Focus Open Gold", the international design award conferred by the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

"Design is evolving to a category in which d&b systems also demonstrate their exceptional performance," says Amnon Harman, CEO of d&b audiotechnik. “We constantly endeavour to elevate the quality of sound and make our systems as easy to use as possible. Outstanding design contributes significantly to the benefits our customers derive from investing in d&b systems and solutions".
