Yamaha Launches New CZR and CXS-XLF Range Loudspeakers At ProLight+Sound and Musikmesse
Being launched alongside Yamaha’s new DZR and DXS-XLF powered loudspeakers, the CZR and CXS-XLF series are brand new, passive models offering high power handling and outstanding sonic performance in a rugged-yet-portable design.
Ideal for a wide range of live performance and installed sound environments - from live bands and DJs to corporate events and houses of worship - the CZR series delivers crystal clear, high-quality sound with impressive bass performance.
The CZR series features three, two-way models, the CZR15 (15” cone), CZR12 (12”) and CZR10 (10”). All feature transducers with die-cast aluminium frames and a 3˝ voice coil for very high power input, with a lightweight yet powerful neodymium magnet helping to add punch and power to the bass frequencies.
The high frequency unit delivers soaring highs from a titanium diaphragm with 2˝ voice coil and neodymium magnet. Like the DZR series, CZR models also feature a rotatable, constant directivity horn design (90°x 50° for the CZR15, 90°x 60° for the CZR12 and CZR10) offering more flexibility for horizontal or vertical mounting.
In passive mode the CZR15 and CZR12 have a power rating of 800W, with a peak SPL of 129dB and 128dB respectively. The CZR10 has a power rating of 700W, with a peak SPL of 126dB. All CZR models also have a Biamp mode for maximum performance and, when used in combination with Yamaha PX series amplifiers or other compatible signal processors, they can take full advantage of dedicated speaker processor tunings.
For enhanced low end, adding the CXS-XLF extended low frequency series, passive subwoofers can extend a system down to a startling 29Hz. Comprising the CXS18-XLF (18”) and CXS15-XLF (15”) units (which have respective peak SPLs of 133dB and 131dB), multiple CXS-XLS subwoofers can be used in cardioid mode for enhanced rear bass rejection and front projection, provided the processor has the necessary dedicated DSP settings.
With rugged and roadworthy premium plywood enclosures, scratch-resistant Polyurea coating, a variety of mounting options and exceptional portability, the new CZR and CXS-XLF loudspeakers are ideal for live or installed sound where an optimum quality, passive system is required.
The CZR and CXS-XLF ranges will be available from summer 2018.
