Concert Sound Focus for Fohhn at Prolight + Sound
German audio manufacturer demonstrates new concert sound system developments in Frankfurt
Fohhn Audio AG demonstrates the latest developments in its new comprehensive concert sound system at this year’s Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt (Hall 3.1, Stand F81). Designed for use in large-scale live venues (such as halls, arenas and stadia), as well as in clubs, the new system integrates Fohhn Beam Steering Technology with the company’s latest digital strategy developments to provide a full range loudspeaker, subwoofer and amplifier combination that can be networked and digitally controlled, in real time, using a single piece of software.
Forming part of this system combination is Focus Venue, an active, digitally controllable line array system with Beam Steering Technology. The system comprises flexible, combinable FV-100 high frequency modules and FV-200 low-mid modules with cardioid technology (Convertible Dispersion Technology). These are combined into arrays that are stacked or flown straight – no mechanical curving is necessary. Loudspeaker beam dispersion characteristics can be electronically controlled in real time.
Focus Venue can be supplemented in the low frequency range by Fohhn’s new Perform-Series subwoofers: the PS-800 (1 x 18”) and PS-850 (2 x 18”). As required, these can be stacked or combined to form horizontal, vertical or endfired Focus Sub Arrays, whose beam dispersion characteristics can also be controlled via software.
Further system components include Fohhn’s new high performance Class-D DI-Series digital amplifiers with DSP input and output processing, a power supply that includes a microprocessor with various sensory functions, AES/EBU, Dante™, Optocore, Fohhn AIREA and Analogue (XLR) input interface options and Speakon / Phoenix terminal output options.
As well as seeing and hearing the new system components on Fohhn’s stand, show visitors can also experience a live demonstration of the system in the open air demo area - F01.0 A15.
The Fohhn stand will include other established products from the company's portfolio, along with newer items such as the VPT-70 PO – a bracket specially designed to enable pole operation of Fohhn’s Perform PT-70 loudspeaker system. There’s also opportunity to chat to company product specialists and engineers, while enjoying a drink at the Fohhn’s Bar.
