Audio-Technica Broadcast Microphones Secure 'Gear Of The Year' Award

bp4073

Microphone models from Audio-Technica's respected Broadcast & Production series have been recognised in Audio Media magazine's Gear Of The Year Awards 2011. The BP4071, BP4071L and BP4073 shotgun microphones received the GOTY award, bestowed on products deemed to be both "innovative and outstanding in their field".

The design of the BP4071 allows for directivity comparable to microphones up to 50% longer, while the 'long' version, the BP4071L is among the lengthiest models available, with an extremely narrow polar pattern and excellent rejection from sides and rear. The lightweight BP4073 uses an advanced Audio-Technica interference tube design for directional pickup, while adding little weight to a minicam or fishpole.

The shotgun microphones join another award-winning model in Audio-Technica's Broadcast & Production series – the BP4001 cardioid dynamic 'reporter mic' gained an Audio Pro International award earlier in 2011.

Harvey Roberts, Audio-Technica senior UK marketing manager said, "We're obviously delighted to receive a Gear Of The Year accolade from Audio Media. We're very proud of the new Broadcast & Production shotgun mics, which are used in the most demanding sports broadcasting, film-making and TV production situations. So it's very gratifying to have them recognised for their innovative design by the Audio Media award."

The Gear Of The Year awards feature in a special December 2011 issue of Audio Media.
